Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT ) latest attack on Google (NASDAQ: GOOG ) through a trade group is being called a "Trojan horse." The practice is becoming more commonplace for Mr. Softy, and it's joined in this case by some big names, including Nokia (NYSE: NOK ) and Oracle (NYSE: ORCL ) . While the practice is technically within the rules, it begs the question of whether regulation is really to become a new offensive weapon of competition in Europe.

The latest trend in the smartphone space revolves around devices with improved camera capabilities. Companies such as Nokia (NOK) and Sony (SNE) have already started realizing the changing needs of the consumers and have started offering handsets with high quality camera. In fact, for several of these handsets, the camera quality is the unique selling point. Even Apple (AAPL) stresses greatly on the capabilities of the iSight camera in its devices.

As expected, Nokia's (NYSE: NOK ) sales, revenue, and income dropped in its recently announced Q1, both sequentially, and compared to last year. And, based on market reaction, it's going to be a long day for Nokia shareholders -- or, at least, those with a near-term perspective. For Fools with a longer-term view, a Nokia sell-off may turn out to be a great buying opportunity.
