The oil and gas industry services provider announced�this morning that Mike Sumruld�was appointed as its vice president and treasurer, replacing�Jan Kees van Gaalen, who left last month to serve as executive VP and CFO at Dresser-Rand.
Sumruld started his career at Baker Hughes in 1998 and worked most recently as VP of financial planning and analysis in Dubai. Prior to that, Sumruld served as Baker Hughes' director of investor relations.

PPG Industries, Inc. (PPG) announced on Monday morning that it has agreed to acquire Consorcio Comex, S.A. de C.V.
PPG will acquire architectural and industrial coatings company Consorcio Comex for approximately $2.3 billion. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. PPG reported that it plans to fund the deal with currently held cash and short term investments.

During the year ended December 31, 2012, approximately 45%t of its vinyl resins production was sold into the United States and Canadian merchant markets where its vinyl resins were used in a variety of flexible and rigid vinyl end-use applications. During 2012, the largest end-uses of its products were for pipe and pipe fittings, siding, extruded sheet and film and window profiles.
